Project Description
This course supports students in identifying the elements of their own personal creative process. Topics will include the search for inspiration, the exploration and nurturing of the “germ” of an idea, and its development into written language. Course material is drawn from the texts, letters, approaches, and biographies of poets, prose fiction writers, and playwrights. Class work will include lectures, exercises, feedback sessions, and discussions. While the course is not a writing workshop, students will be expected to read widely; to contribute to the Discussion Board; to feedback in groups; and to engage in writing poetry, prose fiction, and drama. The course is open to all students, regardless of their writing experience or mother tongue.
